Hey, I just logged onto the server for the first time, and I'm in creative mode on what seems to be a new map. Am I supposed to be in creative mode?

OP Addition: I'm afraid to build anything until I know what the situation is.

Actually, after browsing older posts on the forum I get the impression I'm supposed to be in creative.
